The history of Heritage Bible Baptist Church and ministries is complex in its

aspiration while rich in lessons. The pioneering pastor started the work under the

authority of the sending church, Holy Word Bible Baptist Church under the

leadership of Rev. Rolando C. Lariosa. The work started as simple Bible studies in

Golden City Phase 3, Salawag, Dasmariñas, Cavite sometime in the last quarter of

1995. The support of his wife, Judith P. Legaspina, paved a way for this divine

task. The missionary work had started in spite of having no financial support from

the sending church during the early months of mission period. Then, later the Bible

studies were recognized and were organized into a mission work on April 23, 1996.

Our beloved, Pastor Abraham D. Legaspina, started the missionary work in Salawag,

Dasmarinas, Cavite right after he graduated from the Pastoral Theology at

Mandaluyong Bible Baptist Seminary. That Sunday, the worship attendance started

with seven (7) adults and seven (7) children. It was so memorable since it was only

our first worship service yet the people raised money for a second hand piano.​

 

       The transition of the ministerial work from one identity to another

was remarkable. During its first year of mission, the church was named

Cosmopolitan Bible Baptist Church. The missionary pastor, Abraham D.

Legaspina, was ordained as a minister on December 7, 1998 and the

work was recognized as an independent church with chartered members of

almost 50 people. In the same year also, the church had started a church-

based preparatory school named Baptist Heritage Academy. The church

focused on educating the children which is primarily among the brethren.

The church grew gradually due to house to house Bible studies, prayer,

fellowships and worship activities. The wife of the pastor, Madame

Judith, resigned from her secular job in November 1998 to assist the

church-based school, and served as principal later on. The couple, then,

wholly focused on the ministerial work.

 

        Its legal personalities created a wider horizon for future venture both local and abroad. It was 18th day of October, 1999 when the church legally changed its name to Presiding Pastor of Heritage Bible Baptist Church & Academy Inc. with SEC registration number A199914172 under corporation sole. It was simply identified as Heritage Bible Baptist Church. It is a reflection of belief that the man is divinely called and the people under him is the zeal of his calling. While the school, Baptist Heritage Academy of Dasmariñas Cavite acquired its separate and legal identity on 10th of April 2003 with SEC registration number CN200307204. Legal documents, financial stability, church’s capability, and growing membership are God’s instrument for the man of God to travel here and abroad.

 

       The acquisitions of properties through tough testing are credible evidences for a solid trust among its members. In spite of hard trials that came along the way, the church acquired a 400 square meter lot. The church is constructing a 311 square meter floor area, two-storey building. With a continuous increase in membership and its offering, the construction of the proposed building is on its way for the testimony of the faithfulness of God.

 

      The growing membership is a mark of God’s favour to reach the community and beyond. The church now is having an active membership of approximately 160 plus persons in HBBC- Salawag Congregation, 14 people in HBBC- Milan, Italy Congregation (ministering through SKYPE temporarily), 52 in HBBC- Comembo Makati Congregation under missionary Pastor Romi Tiamzon. The congregation in Milan started in 2008 when Pastor Abraham Legaspina visited Milan Italy in 2008, while the Comembo-Makati Congregation started in the last quarter of 2009. The HBBC- Salawag continued to grow as it hosts the Baptist Theological College and in partnership with Mandaluyong Bible Baptist Seminary with enrolled 28 Bible students in SY 2012-2013. With the burden to reach people by the Gospel, and a vision to establish churches here and abroad, the HBBC- Salawag congregation hosted the Baptist Theological School. The Bible school has teaching staff which is composed of 9 pastors, 4 pastor’s wives, and 2 American missionaries. The church is now heading to a public school moral value teaching program. With the continuous soul winning, discipleship and leadership program, the church is headed to succeed for the glory of God.

We extend our services through information technologies, like preaching through SKYPE, live streaming and any possibilities beyond present imagination.​
